Craft & Finishing

Highlights

  • Composition: 50% mercerized wool + 50% cotton; mercerized wool provides softness and a gentle luster, while the cotton component brings a skin-friendly, moisture-absorbing, dry and fresh touch.
  • Specification: 30NM/2 semi-worsted medium-fine count two-ply; the yarn body is smooth and clean, with even yarn regularity, moderate strength and low weaving loss.
  • Hand feel: after mercerizing, the surface is smooth with little fuzz, combining the warmth of wool with the freshness of cotton; it does not prickle or feel stuffy against the skin.
  • Function: wool absorbs moisture and keeps warm + cotton is breathable and wicks sweat, suitable for all seasons; after semi-worsted shrink-resistant finishing, it is dimensionally stable and easy to care for.
  • Color fastness: eco-friendly reactive dyeing and strict color fixing; rich color, stable from batch to batch, with a wide span of 96 colors and good compatibility.

Recommended Flat-bed Gauge

  • Recommended: 12 gauge (12G) — the fabric surface is flat, with moderate thickness, best showing the crisp texture of 30NM/2 semi-worsted.
  • Fine gauge/lightweight: 14 gauge (14G) — tight density and refined fit, suitable for lightweight styles and close-fitting base layers.
  • Ultra-thin: 16 gauge (16G) — delicate and lightweight, suitable for spring/summer styles and lightweight inner layers.
  • Thick style/loose: 9 gauge (9G) — the fabric is bulky and warmer, and can be knitted with two-ply feeding for autumn/winter thick styles.
  • Tip: mercerized wool-cotton yarn is soft and smooth, so weaving tension should be moderate; before changing needle gauge or color number, it is recommended to knit a swatch first to confirm density and shrinkage.

Washing & Finishing Steps

  1. 1Sorting and lot matching: sort by style number, color number and dye lot difference; wash the same batch and same dye lot together to avoid color bleeding and color difference.
  2. 2Rinsing to remove sizing and stains: warm water below 30℃ + neutral detergent, gently remove loose fibers, oil stains and sizing; the cotton component should avoid high temperature and alkalinity.
  3. 3Softening/shrink-resistant finishing: add a hydrophilic softener, combined with the mercerized shrink-resistant property to improve the pile hand feel, maintain dimensional stability, and prevent the cotton component from shrinking.
  4. 4Dewatering and shaping: low-speed dewatering, wringing is strictly prohibited, pre-shape the garment while damp to prevent the wool-cotton blended yarn from wrinkling and deforming.
  5. 5Drying/shade drying: low-temperature drying or flat drying in the shade to 80% dry, avoid high-temperature sunlight exposure that may cause hardening, discoloration or shrinkage.
  6. 6Panel pressing: steam-press each garment panel once before sewing to eliminate curled edges and wrinkles; steam pressure should be low.
  7. 7Garment pressing: after sewing is completed, steam-press the whole garment once on a mannequin for shaping, avoid direct pressing on the pile surface.
  8. 8Re-pressing and fine finishing: for easily wrinkled parts such as neckline, placket, hem and cuffs, press once more as much as possible to ensure flatness.
  9. 9Quality inspection and packaging: inspect size, color difference, pilling, stains and pressing effect; after passing inspection, bag them, and anti-moth treatment is recommended.

Care Instructions

  • Washing: warm water below 30℃, select the "wool/delicate" program; use neutral detergent, avoid enzyme-containing and bleach-containing ingredients and prolonged soaking.
  • Drying: after washing, gently press out water (never wring), lay flat to dry in the shade, avoid hanging in direct sunlight and high-temperature tumble drying to prevent shrinkage and deformation.
  • Ironing: if ironing is needed, use a low-temperature steam iron, iron with a pressing cloth, and avoid direct contact with the pile surface.
  • Storage: keep dry before storing, moth repellent strips may be placed, and avoid pressure from heavy objects that may cause deformation.
