Craft & Finishing

Highlights

  • Composition: 45% wool + 32% nylon + 15% acrylic + 8% cashmere, four-fiber blend, complementary performance.
  • Specification: 16NM/1 medium-count woolen, the yarn body is fluffy, the nap is full, the hand feel is thick, and the warmth retention is good.
  • Hand feel: the woolen process gives a full nap, wool and cashmere bring a soft touch, acrylic increases the bulk, thick yet not scratchy.
  • Strength: 32% nylon significantly improves abrasion resistance and tensile strength, the garment is durable and not easy to pill or tear.
  • Color fastness: eco-friendly reactive dyeing, the acrylic component takes color fully, the shade is bright and the batch is stable.

Recommended Flat-bed Gauge

  • Main recommendation: 12 gauge (12G) — best match with 16NM/1 medium-count yarn, the fabric surface is thick and flat, and the shape is crisp.
  • Light/thin needle: 14 gauge (14G) — denser, suitable for regular medium-thickness sweaters and cardigans.
  • Thick/loose: 9 gauge (9G) — the fabric is fluffy and warm, can be knitted with two ends for outerwear and thick styles.
  • Tip: woolen yarn is fluffy with a full nap, the knitting density should be moderate; too dense will make the hand feel hard; with nylon and acrylic the strength is good, so the tension can be slightly higher than pure wool yarn. It is recommended to knit a swatch first to confirm density and shrinkage.

Washing & Finishing Steps

  1. 1Sorting and lot matching: sort by style number, color number, and dye lot, wash the same batch and same dye lot together to avoid color bleeding and color difference.
  2. 2Rinsing to remove sizing and dirt: warm water below 35℃ + neutral detergent, gently remove loose fibers, oil stains and sizing; never use alkaline agents.
  3. 3Milling/brushing finish: woolen yarn can be lightly milled or brushed as needed to make the nap full and the hand feel thick; then add hydrophilic softener and anti-pilling finish to leverage the abrasion resistance of nylon and acrylic.
  4. 4Dewatering and setting: low-speed dewatering, wringing is strictly prohibited, pre-set the shape while wet to prevent garment deformation.
  5. 5Tumble drying/shade drying: low-temperature tumble drying or lay flat to dry in the shade to 80%; the acrylic component is sensitive to high temperature, avoid hardening and discoloration.
  6. 6Panel pressing: steam-press each garment panel once before sewing to eliminate curled edges and wrinkles; steam pressure should be medium-low.
  7. 7Garment pressing: after sewing is completed, steam-press the whole garment once on a mannequin to set the shape, avoid prolonged direct pressing.
  8. 8Re-pressing and finishing: press easily wrinkled areas such as neckline, placket, hem, and cuffs once more as much as possible to ensure flatness.
  9. 9Quality inspection and packaging: inspect size, color difference, pilling, stains and pressing effect, bag after passing, and it is recommended to add mothproof treatment.

Care Instructions

  • Washing: warm water below 35℃, select the "wool/gentle" program; use neutral detergent, avoid bleaching ingredients.
  • Drying: after washing, gently press out water (never wring), lay flat to dry in the shade, avoid hanging in direct sunlight and high-temperature tumble drying.
  • Ironing: if ironing is needed, use a low-temperature steam iron with a pressing cloth, avoid direct contact with high temperature (acrylic is sensitive to heat).
