Craft & Finishing

Highlights

  • Composition: 90% mercerized shrink-resistant wool + 10% cashmere. Mercerized wool sets the luster and shape, cashmere is responsible for softness and warmth.
  • Specifications: 50NM/2 semi-worsted high-count yarn, even yarn evenness, smooth yarn, moderate strength, low weaving loss.
  • Hand feel: soft, waxy and delicate with a crisp, structured body, does not prickle the skin when worn next to the body, not stuffy.
  • Functions: natural moisture absorption and breathability, lightweight and warm, not easy to pill, good resilience, suitable for four-season lightweight sweaters.
  • Color fastness: eco-friendly reactive dyeing with strict color fixing, bright color, stable batches.

Recommended Flat-bed Gauge

  • Main recommendation: 16 gauge (16G) — fine and smooth, best showcases the delicate texture of 50NM/2 high-count yarn.
  • Lightweight/fine gauge: 18 gauge (18G) — tight density, refined shape, suitable for extremely thin spring/summer styles and close-fitting base layers.
  • Regular/medium weight: 14 gauge (14G) — double-layer or thickened knitting, suitable for light warm autumn/winter styles.
  • Thick/loose: 12 gauge (12G) — fabric is more fluffy and warm, suitable for slightly thicker outerwear styles.
  • Tip: 50NM/2 high-count yarn has fine yarn evenness and obvious shrinkage off the machine, tension should be on the lower side, it is recommended to knit a swatch first to confirm density and shrinkage rate.

Washing & Finishing Steps

  1. 1Sorting and lot matching: sort by style number, color number and dye lot difference, wash items from the same batch and same dye lot together, avoid color bleeding and color difference.
  2. 2Rinsing to remove sizing and stains: 30-40℃ warm water + neutral detergent, gently remove loose fibers, oil stains and sizing.
  3. 3Softening/anti-shrink finishing: add hydrophilic softener to improve hand feel and fleece effect, while taking into account the soft and waxy characteristics of cashmere.
  4. 4Dewatering and setting: low-speed dewatering, do not wring, pre-set the shape while wet to prevent high-count yarn from wrinkling and deforming.
  5. 5Drying/tumble drying: temperature-controlled tumble drying or lay flat in the shade until 80% dry, avoid high-temperature direct sunlight causing hardening, discoloration or shrinkage.
  6. 6Panel ironing: steam iron each garment panel once before sewing to eliminate curled edges and wrinkles.
  7. 7Garment ironing: after sewing is completed, steam iron the whole garment once on a mannequin to set the shape.
  8. 8Re-ironing and fine finishing: for easily wrinkled areas such as neckline, placket, hem and cuffs, iron as much as possible one more time to ensure flatness.
  9. 9Quality inspection and packaging: inspect dimensions, color difference, pilling, stains and ironing effect, bag after passing inspection.

Care Instructions

  • Washing: warm water below 30℃, select the "wool/delicate" program; use neutral detergent, avoid enzyme-containing/bleach-containing ingredients.
  • Drying: after washing, gently press out water, lay flat in the shade to dry, avoid hanging in direct sunlight, high-temperature tumble drying and prolonged soaking.
  • Ironing: if ironing is needed, use a low-temperature steam iron, it is recommended to iron with a pressing cloth, avoid direct contact.
  • Storage: keep dry before storing, moth repellent strips may be placed, avoid heavy objects pressing and causing deformation.
