Craft & Finishing

Highlights

  • Composition: 70% Long-staple Cotton + 30% Silk, cotton-silk blend, combining moisture absorption and breathability with a silky luster.
  • Specification: 120NM/2 ultra-high count two-ply worsted, yarn fine and compact, even yarn evenness, fine weaving.
  • Hand feel: Silk brings a soft luster and smooth touch; the garment is light, cool, drapey and does not cling to the body.
  • Function: The cotton component absorbs moisture and breathes, skin-friendly and comfortable; silk enhances luster and strength, making it fresh and presentable to wear.
  • Color fastness: Cotton-silk reactive dyeing, colors soft and full, batch-stable, good consistency in light color ranges.

Recommended Flat-bed Gauge

  • Recommended: 16 gauge (16G) — matches 120NM/2 ultra-high count yarn, fabric surface fine and smooth, light and breathable.
  • Ultra-thin/circular knitting: 18 gauge (18G) — suitable for ultra-light T-shirts and high-end base layers, dense and compact, refined fit.
  • Regular/circular knitting: 14 gauge (14G) — can also be used for circular knitting, making comfortable knit styles of regular thickness.
  • Note: Ultra-high count yarn is fine with relatively low strength; weaving tension should be lower and machine speed slower to avoid yarn breakage; it is recommended to knit a swatch first to confirm density and shrinkage.

Washing & Finishing Steps

  1. 1Sorting and lot matching: Sort by style number, color number and dye lot difference; wash same batch and same dye lot together to avoid color bleeding and color difference.
  2. 2Desizing and stain removal in clean water: Warm water below 40℃ + neutral detergent, gently remove sizing and oil stains; cotton-silk should avoid strong alkali and high temperature.
  3. 3Singeing/mercerizing finishing (optional): Worsted cotton-silk can undergo light singeing or mercerizing finishing to make the fabric surface smooth, luster soft and hand feel silky.
  4. 4Softening finishing: Add hydrophilic softener to enhance the silky smooth hand feel and drape, avoid a stiff hand feel.
  5. 5Dewatering and setting: Low-speed dewatering, wringing strictly prohibited, pre-set the shape while wet to prevent deformation and wrinkling of ultra-high count yarn.
  6. 6Drying/shade drying: Low-temperature drying or lay flat to dry in the shade until 80% dry, avoid high temperature and direct sunlight which may cause cotton-silk to harden and change color.
  7. 7Panel pressing: Steam press each garment panel once before sewing to eliminate curled edges and wrinkles; steam pressure should be low.
  8. 8Garment pressing: After sewing is completed, steam press the whole garment once on a mannequin to set the shape, avoid direct high-temperature pressing on the silky surface.
  9. 9Quality inspection and packaging: Inspect dimensions, color difference, snags, stains and pressing effect; after passing, bag it, taking care to prevent moisture and moths.

Care Instructions

  • Washing: Hand wash or use the "gentle" program in water below 30℃; use neutral detergent, avoid enzyme/bleach-containing ingredients.
  • Drying: After washing, gently press out water (never wring), lay flat to dry in the shade or hang in a cool place, avoid direct sunlight.
  • Ironing: If ironing is needed, use a low-temperature steam iron with a pressing cloth, avoid direct high-temperature contact to prevent the silky surface from shining.
  • Storage: Keep dry before storing, avoid heavy pressure and prolonged hanging which may cause deformation.
