Craft & Finishing

Highlights

  • Composition: 90% imported cotton + 10% spun silk, cotton-silk blend, combining moisture absorption and breathability with a silk-like texture.
  • Specifications: 48NM/2 and 95NM/3 dual specifications in parallel, one thick and one fine, select the count by style, flexible production scheduling.
  • Hand feel: spun silk brings a soft luster and smooth touch, the garment is fresh and non-sticky, with a stylish drape.
  • Function: the cotton component absorbs moisture and breathes, skin-friendly and comfortable; spun silk enhances luster and strength, making it fresh and presentable to wear.
  • Color fastness: cotton-silk reactive dyeing, full color, stable batches, good consistency in light color ranges.

Recommended Flat-bed Gauge

  • 48NM/2 main recommendation: 14 gauge (14G) — conventional worsted thickness, flat fabric surface, moderate density, suitable for mainstream styles.
  • 95NM/3 main recommendation: 16 gauge (16G) — fine count and lightweight, dense and breathable fabric surface, suitable for lightweight T-shirts and premium base layers.
  • Ultra-thin/circular knitting: 18 gauge (18G) — use 95NM/3 for ultra-lightweight styles; circular knitting can choose 14G for conventional comfortable knitwear.
  • Note: both are worsted fine-count yarns with relatively low strength; knitting tension should be on the low side and machine speed slow to avoid yarn breakage; before changing count, it is recommended to knit a sample first to confirm density and shrinkage.

Washing & Finishing Steps

  1. 1Sorting and lot matching: sort by style number, color number and dye lot difference, wash the same batch and same dye lot together to avoid color bleeding and color difference.
  2. 2Desizing and stain removal in clean water: warm water below 40℃ + neutral detergent, gently remove sizing and oil stains; cotton-silk should avoid strong alkali and high temperature.
  3. 3Singeing/mercerizing finishing (optional): worsted cotton-silk can undergo light singeing or mercerizing finishing to make the fabric surface smooth, the luster soft and the hand feel smooth.
  4. 4Softening finishing: add hydrophilic softener to enhance the smooth hand feel and drape of spun silk, avoid a stiff hand feel.
  5. 5Dewatering and setting: low-speed dewatering, wringing strictly prohibited, pre-set the shape while wet to prevent deformation and wrinkling of fine-count yarn.
  6. 6Drying/tumble drying: low-temperature drying or lay flat to dry in the shade until 80% dry, avoid high temperature and direct sunlight that may cause cotton-silk to harden and discolor.
  7. 7Panel pressing: steam press each garment panel once before sewing to eliminate curled edges and wrinkles; steam pressure should be low.
  8. 8Garment pressing: after sewing is completed, steam press the whole garment once on a mannequin to set the shape, avoid direct high-temperature pressing on the silk-like surface.
  9. 9Quality inspection and packaging: inspect dimensions, color difference, snags, stains and pressing effect, bag after passing inspection, pay attention to moisture-proof and moth-proof.

Care Instructions

  • Washing: hand wash in warm water below 30℃ or use the "gentle" program; use neutral detergent, avoid enzyme/bleach-containing ingredients.
  • Drying: after washing, gently press out water (never wring), lay flat to dry in the shade or hang in a cool place, avoid direct sunlight.
  • Ironing: if ironing is needed, use a low-temperature steam iron with a pressing cloth, avoid direct high-temperature contact to prevent the silk-like surface from shining.
  • Storage: keep dry before storing, avoid heavy pressure and long-term hanging that may cause deformation.
